By downloading, installing, accessing, or using OpenDroid ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the App.
2. Description of Service
OpenDroid is an open-source, autonomous AI assistant for Android devices. The App can:
- Execute system-level actions (toggle settings, set alarms, manage calendar events)
- Make phone calls and send text messages on your behalf
- Automate third-party applications via Android Accessibility Services
- Capture and analyze screen content for task execution
- Store memories and preferences locally on your device
- Connect to third-party LLM API services using your own API keys
3. License
OpenDroid is licensed under the Apache License, Version 2.0. You may use, modify, and distribute the software in accordance with the terms of that license. The full license text is available at:

4. User Responsibilities
When using OpenDroid, you agree to:
- Use the App lawfully: You will not use OpenDroid to perform illegal actions, send unauthorized messages, make unauthorized calls, or violate any applicable laws or regulations.
- Grant permissions responsibly: You acknowledge that the App requires elevated system permissions (Accessibility Service, phone, SMS, settings) and you grant these permissions voluntarily and with understanding of their implications.
- Manage your API keys: You are solely responsible for the security and usage of any third-party API keys you configure within the App. Any costs incurred from API usage are your responsibility.
- Supervise autonomous actions: While OpenDroid is designed to operate autonomously, you are responsible for monitoring and supervising its actions, especially for sensitive operations like calls, messages, and financial transactions.
- Respect third-party terms: When using OpenDroid to interact with third-party applications, you will comply with those applications' terms of service.
5. Accessibility Service Disclaimer
OpenDroid's Accessibility Service is used exclusively for the following purposes:
- Reading on-screen content to understand the current app state
- Performing UI actions (clicks, scrolls, text input) to execute user-requested tasks
- Capturing screen content for multimodal AI analysis
The Accessibility Service is not used to collect, store, or transmit personal data to any external server. You can revoke Accessibility Service access at any time through Android Settings.
6. Third-Party Services
OpenDroid integrates with third-party LLM providers and services. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms:

- ElevenLabs: elevenlabs.io/terms
We are not responsible for the availability, performance, accuracy, or content of third-party services.
7. No Warranty
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that:
- The App will meet your requirements or expectations
- The App will operate uninterrupted, securely, or error-free
- AI-generated plans and actions will be accurate, appropriate, or successful
- The App will be compatible with all devices or Android versions
8. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE OPENDROID CONTRIBUTORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Loss of data, revenue, or profits
- Unauthorized calls, messages, or actions performed by the App
- Costs incurred from third-party API usage
- Damages arising from the App's interaction with third-party applications
- Device malfunction or data loss
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the OpenDroid Contributors from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the App, violation of these Terms, or violation of any rights of third parties.
10. Modifications to the App
As an open-source project, OpenDroid is continuously developed and improved. We reserve the right to modify, update, or discontinue any features of the App at any time. We will document significant changes in the project's release notes and changelog.
11. Modifications to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be committed to the project's GitHub repository and reflected in the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable open-source software conventions and the laws of the jurisdiction in which the primary maintainer resides, without regard to conflict of law principles.
13. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
